Babies|

I’ve always loved babies
they fill our lives with happiness and joy

Babies are constantly
adapting to their changing environment

with wonder, curiosity
and wide open eyes

often putting one foot in their little mouths
and picking up (on) every thing they see

not always sure if they should laugh or cry
wanting to be happy while they constantly adjust
to the changing world around them

they make you feel awkward
with their honesty

does my poetry make you feel awkward
make you unsure of how to respond

lately my world has been changing
so rapidly

I feel like I am much like a baby
my eyes are wide open
not always sure if I should laugh or cry

as I go through each day
more aware now than ever

that nothing lasts forever
nothing stays the same

as of late I feel much like a baby
an onslaught of change all the time
