The Ringmaster –

Without A Car

A New Level Of Poverty

Dear Diary

Day #2

Right now I’m tired from

walking 2 hours today

and not getting much sleep last night

and I’m afraid that maybe

I won’t be able to pull this one off

I want to continue to be the comeback kid

Today I walked everywhere

and didn’t do some errands

I normally would have done

because I didn’t want to walk

even more

today I admitted

to my neighbor

the woman whose

ceiling connects to my floor

the same neighbor

who had to have a sheriff

evict her grandchildren

who were staying with her

for abusing her

that my car

was repossessed

for missing 2 payments

although I paid the most

current and $50 on the balance

ironically they confisgated my car

the same day that I made the

$501 payment

and without my car I really

could use the extra money

there is no more pretending

my life style has changed

I need to fall asleep soon

so I can miss the waking world

it’s much too depressing

and hard to deal with

all the problems that I can’t

without the means

to resolve them

which like Catch 22

I do have

sitting in each lawyer’s trust

account a total of over $100,000

which I now can’t touch

and will probably lose if I have

to file Chapter XIII

and I’m worried about the mass

and how I’m going to get

to and from the ultrasound biopsy

next week

and how I’m going to get

my son back and forth to baseball camp

Sometimes life just

kicks you in the ass

As Scarlet O’Hara said

Don’t bother me

and don’t call me Sugar

I’ll think about that tomorrow

The Ringmaster

Ladies and Gentlemen

Boys and Girls

Come one Come all

Under the big top

you will be entertained by the

human hamster

see him ride his motorcycle in the cage

Coming in the ring

The Bearded Lady

Trapeze Artists

and then there’s the rest of us . . .

Under the big top

living our lives

as we walk the tightrope

blindfolded through life

it’s all a balancing act

and when you fall

make sure there is always a safety net to catch you

if it’s not the end of the show

get up and try it again
